There is a wonderful (debatably) Christmas song called ‘Light of the World’ by Lauren Daigle. I love to listen to it, and I definitely like it, mostly because it’s a reminder of what Jesus is to us. he is the Light of our world, and He came to die for us. He lit our world, because He was the Light, and with His Light He lit a flame in each of us to carry, share guard, and remember for all our lives.
Today, I’m going to share some verses about light that I love to read when I’m enjoying the Christmas lights that dazzle around us at this time of year. It’s so beautiful, that I just can’t help but stare and thank Jesus for all He’s done for us. I also recommend you listen to ‘Light of the World, which I linked at the bottom of the post.
I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12)
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (John 1:5)
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (Ephesians 5:8)
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalms 119:105)
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? (Psalm 27:1)
And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. (Isaiah 42:16)
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. (John 9:5)
Well, I hope you enjoyed those, and here’s the lyric video to Lauren Daigle’s Light of the World. Enjoy!
God bless you!
