Homemaking

When you say the word ‘homemaking’, one thought comes to mind. My mom. As far as homemaking mothers go, she’s the best. She loves us, and works constantly to create a clean, loving environment for us to enjoy. She tries to make everything welcoming, and create more than just a house. She works to surround us with a wonderful home.

It’s my dream to one day have a family of my own, and a home. In the meantime, God has supplied me with a perfect example of a mother who creates not only a home, but a loving one. I hope that one day I will take after her, and I’m working to shape my future by preparing myself for that role, and reading everything I can on the subject. While I love to dream about my future like any other teenager, right now I am working to be a ‘Proverbs 31 Girl’. This section will share ideas, thoughts, books, and experiences with being a budding homemaker. Luckily, my mom is very patient, and is teaching me how to make a home. I guess that I am, in all fairness, more of a ‘room-maker’ than a homemaker, albeit a messy one.

God bless you,

-A Christian Girl

Needless to say, I felt very inspired afterward, and wanted to start my own fall tradition. […]

Messy Perfection: The Real Goal

Our secular world has a very superficial idea of what ‘home’ should look like. Lines of tidy shoes sit in the hallway. A welcome mat that has never been used before. Spotless counters, tables, floors, chairs, and every other surface. Cute little beds are made perfectly. A gleaming, well-stocked kitchen, with not a bit of […]

Imagination: The Building Blocks of Play

We have a large yard. It’s very big, and we don’t even go in the front. We’ve lived here for just about as long as I can remember, and I can safely say that this is about the biggest yard I’ve ever seen except for the open field directly behind us. We have a patio, […]
